We begin with David out in a field caring for his family’s sheep. Meanwhile, the prophet, Samuel, is at his house looking over his brothers hoping to find the next king. It turns out, God had big things for David to do.

Our Memory Verse This Month Is: ... "Be Strong And Courageous. Look how BIG I can jump! Look at this BIG bite!”

We don’t have to teach a preschooler to show everyone how big they are. And, if we’re all honest, there’s something deep inside us that wants to do something big, too. We want to show the world that we can do things that matter—things that really matter. Could it be that we were all made to do big things? We think so.

That is why we have planned an entire month around what being a Super Kid really looks like—doing the things God made us to do. We discover that Nehemiah was working for King Artaxerxes when his brother brought news from the exiles living in Judah. When he heard about the devastation in Jerusalem, Nehemiah was heartbroken. He recognized the vast need, but before he did anything, he prayed. Nehemiah knew that whatever he would do, he’d need God’s help to accomplish it.

Our Bottom Line This Week Is: ... Don’t wait for someone else to do what needs to be done.

When kids see something that needs to be done, they might think that someone else will take care of it. But what would happen if our kids saw they could be part of the job?

We want kids to realize that when they know what needs to be done, God might be telling them they can be the one to do it. And if they can’t do it all on their own, they can ask someone they trust for help.

Our Memory Verse This Month Is: ... "Work at everything you do with all you heart. Work as if you were working for the Lord." Colossians 3:23A , NIRV

Remember that Initiative is: Seeing What Needs To Be Done And Doing It.
Initiative is a reflection of the character of God.
=============================================================================
GOD VIEW: THE CONNECTION BETWEEN INITIATIVE AND GOD’S CHARACTER, AS SHOWN THROUGH GOD’S BIG PICTURE

God took the initiative by sending Jesus to show us how much He loves us and fix the relationship between us.
