Heart Art Paint Nites With Connie

This paint ministry helps young women who are at risk or have been rescued from Human Trafficking (sexual slavery).  When you attend one of my classes, you help these victims get their life back. We support Re-Birth here in Riverside and New Life Center Foundation in Thailand. I was privileged to go on a short-term mission trip to Thailand a few years ago and learned first-hand (from Kit Ripley of the New Life Center) just how enormous this problem is there and, in fact, is worldwide now.  When I returned, I started praying and asking God what can I do — I am but one person and the problem is so big?  How could I possibly make a difference?  Over the next several days, God spoke to my heart and told me to ‘just paint’.  So, stepping out in faith, with the support of this church, I started these paint classes and God has truly blessed this ministry!

We paint on the first Thursday of every month and we are now on our third year!  The suggested donation is $30/person (may pay at the door) and all proceeds (with the exception of material costs) is gifted to the above foundations. Please consider attending!  Painting is a great way to relax with friends or family and we have a great time learning together!

Our next paint nite is Thursday, August 1st at 6pm.  Below is all the information including the beautiful water lilies we will be learning to paint.

GUMBO Homeless Ministry

In 2005 Dave Smith found himself in the grip of the Holy Spirit following a couple years of observing the happenings of men’s ministry in the church and receiving teaching through several local and national church leaders. Dave was awakened at three o’clock in the morning inspired with a beginning plan of action that involved teaching men to cook. Immediately the men wondered what they should do—

1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. …. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.  (1 Corinthians 12.1, 3)

14 Let all that you do be done in love.   (1 Corinthians 16.14)

29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”   (Mark 12.29-31)

G.U.M.B.O. (God Using Ministry to Bless Others

   Serving Because We Love

…not simply by feeding the poor
…rather by building relationships with people living their lives out on the streets
…by sharing the love of Christ through food, clothing and the Gospel
…by loving people experiencing homelessness as our Lord Jesus does
…by encouraging people to grow in their relationship with Christ
