Solomon Asks God For Wisdom -- 1 Kings 3:4-28

In today's lesson we learn about ...
Solomon Asks God For Wisdom --- 1 Kings 3:4-28

For week two, we head to 1 Kings 2:4-28. The time had come for King David’s son, Solomon, to take the throne. When Solomon became king, God offered Solomon the choice to anything to help him rule the kingdom of Israel. Instead of choosing power in wealth, Solomon chose wisdom. Quickly, that wisdom was put to the test. Solomon had to arbitrate a difficult moment between two women. God helped him make a wise ruling that solves the situation.

Our Bottom Line This Week Is: ... Trust God to give you wisdom.

Wisdom isn’t necessarily something that we have overnight. It takes time to learn how to put wisdom into practice. We might not always know which choice is the wise choice. That’s why we chose to share this story about Solomon.

We pray that kids will understand that God can give them wisdom in any circumstance.
All they have to do is ask.

Our Memory Verse This Month Is: ... "If Any Of You Needs Wisdom, You Should Ask God For It. He will Give It To You. God Gives Freely To Everyone And Doesn’t Find Fault"  James 1:5 , NIRV

Remember that Wisdom is: Finding Out What You Should Do And Doing It.

CONNECTION BETWEEN COMMITMENT AND GOD’S CHARACTER, SHOWN THROUGH GOD’S BIG STORY
When Jesus was a boy, He grew in wisdom. God wants us to discover wisdom, too. When we make a wise choice, we reflect the character of Jesus to the people around us. That’s why giving kids a strong foundation of wisdom is important. We want to equip them to face down whatever choice they may face in the future.
