Never Alone

Do you have a show that you love to watch? Or a movie? Or a series of movies?

Now let us ask you, why are those particular shows and movies your favorite?

One of the things that we may not realize is that when it comes to some of our favorite shows, we love them because we feel like we can relate to them. When we see a character or storyline that we feel like “gets us,” we really connect with it, don’t we? In the same way, it’s great when we have people that we feel like “get us.”

As great as it is to feel like there are people who “get” you, isn’t it true that for most of us, when we go through really difficult things, we still feel like we’re alone?

The reality is, going through tough times feels lonely. The problem is that we will all go through tough times. In fact, Jesus Himself said this…

“In this world, you will have trouble” – John 16:33b NLT.

Think of one area of your life where there’s trouble. Go ahead, think about it. See, we told you there was trouble in the world! We all face it.

Since going through tough times has a tendency to lead us to feelings of loneliness—and since we’re all going to face trouble in this world—then we’re all going to have to deal with our lonely feelings. And like anything else in life, we can either deal with them in a helpful way or an unhealthy way.
