Bring The Hope!
Some people call this countdown season “Advent,” which is a tradition of focusing on certain virtues, or character traits, as Christmas gets closer.
One way you can tell we’re getting close to Christmas? We start using weird words that we never use any other time of the year.
But then, there are some words we’re familiar with—words that feel a little more special this time of year. Words like joy, peace, and love.
We all know the feeling of hope. But most of us would probably have a hard time describing it. We’re told that it’s good to have hope. But it’s a tricky word…
Is there a difference between wishing and hoping?
It’s tough to think about the future and things that you’re hoping for later.
It is just a reminder of all the things in your life that aren’t going well.
What’s the point in hoping for something if chances are good you’re just going to be disappointed?
It seems pointless, because if God is in control, isn’t He just going to do what He wants to do?
Maybe hope feels naïve or for gullible people.
The question is, why do we have hope? Hope is the true belief that your future can be better than your now and that you have a role to play in it.
Hope isn’t about sitting around waiting for something to happen. Hope is wanting something to happen, and then participating in the process.
